Welcome Week events are categorized into four main types.

  • Signature: Campus-wide events for all first-year students. These events have been created to help support your transition to university life and will help you find your community here at Mac.
  • MSU: Events hosted by the McMaster Students Union.
  • Online: Virtual events.
  • Residence: Events for students living in residence.
  • Faculty: Events hosted by Faculties or Programs.
  • Student Affairs: Events hosted by Student Affairs departments and services.

This list refers to all groups hosting Welcome Week events. For example, if you’re searching for events hosted by your specific Faculty, use this filter!

Get to Know Campus

In preparation for the first day of classes, we are here to provide you with a full tour around campus so you can be prepared and the first student at your first lecture to ensure you get the best seat in the house! Come to Brandon Hall for a series of campus-wide tours starting at 1:30pm. Tours will also be running at 2:00pm. We hope to see you there!

Faculty Fest: Art Sci

Who loves free merch? We do! Come join us at Camp Artsci, right in front of the McMaster Museum of Art, for your exclusive Artsci SWAG! Meet your reps and fellow first year students for your first introduction to the program and an afternoon of Artsci fun. Campus tours will be offered, with special guests from various MSU resources on campus, as well as a sneak-peek at your Artsci classrooms. Back at Camp Artsci you will have free reign over fun activities like playing cards, bracelet-making, frisbee, and a chance to connect upper year reps.

Faculty Fest: Seaside Sandy Science Fest

Join us for an afternoon of fun in the sun! Do you have burning questions about how to study and what university life is like? We’ll be starting with a Q&A panel with TAs, upper years, and profs. Meet your peers at program booths, get creative with seashell painting and tie-dye, and cool off at the slip and slide (bring clothes that can get wet!). Don't miss the free ice cream and epic sandcastle competitions!

Come by JHE, Hatch, and Hatch Bay to explore over 30 clubs and teams involving art, cars, bridges, robots and more. Highlights include NSBE, Engiqueers, WIE and MEWD all championing inclusivity and support for every student. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Monday Night Lights

Faculty Day: Fee Fi Fo Hum
